Are you implying that one need actually use these things lest they be taken for what ever nutjob they are addressing in the satirical

I was looking for this the other day when someone mentioned the Colbert Report, and the fact that there are some right wingers who watch the show and just nod along. The same is true for the Tim Robbins movie "Bob Roberts" in that it is very satirical and yet a friend of mine has extremely right wing parents who bought the soundtrack and love it.
