Birthers - could they have something?

Abercrombie who is a HUGE supporter of Obama has said that he can’t find any record of Obama’s birth in Hawaii.

So, what are your thoughts on this?

Some have said that this is a betrayal from Abercrombie of Obama, do you agree with that? I mean, if he has truely tried everything and can't come up with a real birth cirtificate, how is that a betrayal?

His birth announcement was listed in two different papers in Hawaii when he was born. Good planning to fake this as an infant - knowing that he would someday be POTUS is also impressive for an infant.

Brilliant.

A single white mother with a mixed race baby pre civil rights it was not out of the question.

It's entirely possible that, if there ever was a copy of the so-called "long form" birth certificate, Obama doesn't know where it is.

Long form certificates get lost all the time. Basements flood, houses burn down, people move and lose stuff...That's why most states offer certified verifications of live birth, the same type of form that Obama has made avaliable to the public.

Of course, if this is the case, for Obama to say "Uh...I lost it" won't play well with the birthers.

It seems that a simple way to solve this would be to find other babies born in the same hospital on or around the same date as Obama. Were long form certificates ever issued to them? If not, then this is a non-issue. If long forms were issued for these kids, then it's possible that Obama's long form is simply lost or destroyed.

The birthers don't hate Obama because he "has no birth certificate", They hate him for lots of reasons and just use that "issue" to add gas to the fire.

Let's face it, his skin is the wrong color for that crowd and his name is similar to someone else's. Plus, he wants to improve the country. Big red flags for the right wing jerks that are just looking for a reason to be mad and too stupid blame themselves for anything.

Hawaii just doesn't seem like it has the best record keeping system.

When they were screaming about the "certificate of live birth" being something that the federal government would never issue, I thought it was hilarious as that's exactly what I have - a "certificate of live birth" issued and sealed by the us navy.

Bunch of fucking screaming loonies, the whole pile of them. They are the result of reagan's closing of the mental institutions, those folks all jerked off into flower pots and gave us these blooming idiots.

Hmmm...I had my suspicions...COMRADES!

I think the final ruling with the birth certificate is it's a unreleasable public document in the State of Hawaii. The reporter that broke that story is starting to retract.

Digging in the new story you'll see Jerome Corsi's name pop up. Search his name, literally a tin foil hat wearing phony. Past books include topics such as... My mom has mine. Good thing, or I would have lost it years ago. It's pretty impressive....has my footprints, doc's signature, fancy Gothic lettering.....

But I was born at Ft. Bragg in NC during 'Nam. They might have been more bureaucratic about that kind of stuff.

Please don't misunderstand. The Birthers do indeed have shit for brains since the proof has been available for quite some time. The jury is still out on the rest of us. I am very open-minded - until concrete evidence of something is produced. It has been. You are excused.

There are lots of things that can be done, but it all has to start with Obama or the State saying, they can't find it; and that can bring out all the conspiracy theorist just in itself. Personally, if it can’t be found, I think it would be easy to prove one way or another. Obama was given a SSN, drivers license, signed up for selective service, went to public schools, and a whole lot of other things that require proof of birth. If that proof of birth was outside of the US, I would imagine some government document would make note of it (selective service, and SSN at least).

Hey, if it’s lost then it’s lost; I honestly don’t see the big deal. If my birth certificate were lost, I could find mounds of evidence to support me being a US citizen; it just wouldn’t be that hard.

What I think would be VERY hard to prove though, is Obama not being a US citizen, and in that case, the absence of a birth certificate doesn’t mean anything other than you can’t find the birth certificate. Actually, outside a birth certificate from some other nation, I just don’t see how you can prove Obama isn’t a natural born citizen.
