Alabama police officer allegedly fired for supporting constitutional carry
Myles indicated “Stringer’s sponsorship of legislation supportive of constitutional carry ran afoul of the Sheriff’s views on the issue,” the outlet noted.

Stringer told ABC17 that he was told by Sheriff Cochran that his termination was tied to constitutional carry legislation he is currently sponsoring.
Stringer’s bill, House Bill 618, would mean law-abiding Alabama residents would no longer need to get a permit from the state in order to exercise their Second Amendment right to bear arms.

If it is like the Texas legislature where the members are only paid when it is in session the members all have full time jobs. In this case Stringer is try to serve to masters., the Sheriff and the people of Alabama. As Matthew 6:24 says "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other." I smell a court case on unlawful discharge of an employee. The Sheriff sounds like he wants to continue to be the Lord High Sheriff and control who gets what in his county. But then it could be, " What we have here is a failure to communicate." said the Captain.
