Does anyone here shoot in USPSA or IDPA events? I’m interested and have questions about readiness and gear.

I'm shooting my first IDPA event this Sunday. I'd definitely be interested in others' thoughts and perspectives here. I'm not really sure what to expect, but my tactical instructor told me it would be a good use of my time, so I'm game to give it a go.

For whatever its worth here, I shot my first IDPA match and had a blast. I was slow, it was hard, but it was super fun. I definitely know what I have to work on (multiple target work, quick sight alignment, and faster draw to first shot). There was a good amount of strategy deployed by the more experienced participants, so that was fun to see. Overall, the IDPA thing was definitely a positive experience, and I look forward to shooting more matches when I find them available.
