Piven is almost unknown outside of academia. However, she has written some wonderful material on American politics. I read her book "The New Class War" back in 1985 as a poli sci undergrad at OU. Next to Ken Auletta's book "The Underclass", it was one of the most memorable public policy books I've ever read.

Beck is a coward and an opprotunist without a shred of common decency. Being a far right political hack is usually where no- talent, shallow, mean spirited little men like Beck, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, etc. end up.
As for their followers... wouldn't it be awesome to meet these weirdos and stalkers on a rugby pitch someday? Just a solid hour of pounding these internet " warriors" into the dirt.

I'm not a psychologist, but isn't it almost Freudian that Beck, who is known school dropout and ignorant, uneducated hack, is using blackboard and chalk and constantly presenting himself as some sort of an educator?

Yeah that's great, Beck has the repug mad cows convinced the entire American economic calamity is the fault of a 78 year old academic, couldn't possibly have anything to do with the republican dismantling of federal regulation and the tax base over the last 30 years.

I'm not a violent or mean spirited person but I really hope something awful happens to that douchebag, preferably something that would be capable of discrediting him with his idiot constituency while simultaneously silencing him permanently.

It's my understanding that prick has posted her HOME address on his shitty "news" blog, "The Blaze."

What's the purpose of doing that, exactly? Criticizing someone publically over policy positions is one thing, but what exactly is the point of publishing someone's home address unless you want to encourage violence against that person?

The irony is that some of Beck's Mormon co religionists down on the Colorado City compound believe the same thing about getting as much welfare for their officially single mothered (but actually polygamous) households. They call it "bleeding the Beast", weakening the Eeeebul Federal government by claiming undeserved benefits. But I'm guessing we won't be hearing from Mormon Beck about how those lily white, middle Amurrikha Fundamentalist LDSers are screwing America over, just, as you have already noted, this 78 year old, fairly unknown academic.
