just got a winchester model 06 .22 pump dated 1911 as a gift from my mother in-law it has set for a long time but it does still fire, it has some pitting and stock is a little rough but all in all not bad,my question is will it hurt value if i have it re blued and stock refinished.

If you could post a picture of it that would help. In 90% original finish they are worth some money, but that model in 90% or better is pretty rare. Does it have a pistol grip stock or straight stock?

The straight stock is more prevelant but if in very good condition worth a lot. If there is pitting in the barrel that will impact the value of the rifle. They are a great little rifle I shot one a lot when I was a kid.

If you don't want to wait for your son, take a picture, transfer it to your computer, upload it to photobucket and then copy the jpeg right to your post. Hope that helps.
