Vaccines are starting to show up everywhere here and more people are allowed (55+ yo, school staff, and more categories) next week. i assume that the rollout of vaccines will mean more people shooting at ranges. Prepare for demand to continue. I am ok with that as long as vaccines are rolling out.

I'm torn. On the one hand, stimulus money. On the other hand, prices will come back down, and I still have some stock. Not as much as I want. Will it get better by summer? Have my doubts.
CCI Mini-Mags where for $11? That is the cheapest I have seen in a while.

I have a Cabela's and an Academy Sports on a loop. I check from time to time, because I've found 100-round boxes of 115gr FMJ 9mm at Cabela's for $30 (thirty cents a round) recently, and just the other day scored two boxes of 124gr FMJ 9mm at Academy at $0.37/round. Since most online prices are upwards of $0.70/round, I'll buy stuff at low prices just to encourage the low prices.

My LGS (a Shoot Point Blank store, part of their chain) had a decent supply of Magtech 115gr FMJ 9mm for a change, but at seventy-five cents a round, I'll wait.

When I started buying bullets last year, sixty cents a bullet was common. That's way too damned high, but it was what I could do. I won't pay more than that.
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

Firearm prices are dropping from the stratosphere. They haven't dropped to 2019 historic lows, but are really nearing normal retail prices. It won't be long before they are back to normal. Most of them still cost a lot less than 1000 rounds of the ammo they would use.

I am seeing 7.62x39 back down to 40-50 cents/rd. 5.56/.223 and .308 are still really high priced.

If I time it right, I can find 9mm 124gr FMJ at Academy for thirty-eight cents a round, two box maximum (whether the box has twenty, fifty, or a hundred.).

I saw some off-brand steel-cased 9mm in boxes of 200 for thirty-something cents a round, but didn't bite on getting steel cases. I might, if they have some tomorrow...

Only buy what you really need, BearPaws. Prices will drop. Firearm prices drop first, then ammo. They will eventually settle to what the market will handle at the time and stabilize until the next election. Don't expect reasonable prices for years, but it will be cheaper.

Yeah, I have enough tucked away that I'm not paying over thirty-five cents a round for target ammo. The sixty- and eighty-cents a round prices are beyond my willingness.

Brand new, FNG here. I agree, DO NOT buy online unless ya gotta have something..as in..you have NO 9mm, for example. My son wanders around the stores 2-3 times per week around here(Denver)..Bass Pro, Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse, Murdocs, JAX and consistently finds what we are looking for
9mm-$18 per 50, About $15 per 20 223....
Online-9mm 'about' twice++($40 per 50 with shipping)...if people would stop paying these outrageous online prices, the price would come down.

BUT, lotsa ammo online..why do these online places get preference over store fronts? I suspect they pay the manufacturers more..get preference.

Not everyone has the free time and local options to shop around a lot. I buy (bought) online because it was the same price or cheaper than my local sellers. I won't buy at panic prices right now unless I am desperate. It will take a while before I have to pay panic pricing.

Completely understand but just found 9mm at a local Sportsman's Warehouse and .380 at a Bass Pro.

9mm-$.38 per as was the .380...FMJ.

Two local gun shops, one a larger independent, had 9mm FMJ (Blazer Brass 115gr) for .50/rd, limit 50(1 box); I passed, but I did buy Armscor 147gr .300 AAC for a buddy of mine at $1/rd at the same shop. They also had S&B .45 230gr FMJ at .60/rd, 2 box limit.

Scored a 300rd box of Aguila .223 55gr FMJ at the local farm/fleet supply for .57/rd; that’s going to friends as well.

I learned during the great ammo drought of 2013 that the next time it got cheap, to stack it deep...and I did. Same with components.

Damn! I’d take that. It’s the one round I need to stock up on in addition to 12ga! LoL.

I mentioned Cabela's pricing to a guy who owns a smaller gun shop near me. He mused that someone may be under contract to sell to Cabela's at lower-than-going-rate pricing, and Cabela's isn't bothering to charge going rate for bullets.

When (and if) I find Herter's ammo there in 9mm, it's usually in the thirty-cents-a-round range. I found some SigSauer 124gr hollow-point for ninety cents a round the other day.
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.
