Although now that I think about it, a senator running on emotion, like Lisa Murkowski, would probably buy a decently staged appeal to that emotion and convict him.

And I think he needs to be impeached, because he'd lose 1.2 million a year in benefits, as well as a Secret Service detail and the big one, no 2024 for him. For those reasons, the 25th amendment is good for an immediate, temporary solution, but the impeachment needs to go ahead whether or not he's still in office.

And I don't think it's reasonable to impeach him before the 20th.

No one is arrested for a felony and then put on trial without a reasonable chance to mount a defense.

"Hi, you're under arrest. Felony incitement of a riot and five counts of felony murder. You go to trial next Friday, a week from yesterday. Do you have a lawyer?"
