Forgive me if I am not getting a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Hey I don't like Nader and I'm not a libertarian, but I'd like to see some other choices out there.

I like Nader. I don't think he would have been a great president but he would have been as good as anything we have seen since he ran. Probably better.
I think he is dead wrong here.

Nader is wrong in ALOT of things. He is for the "babysitter" state, and not for progressing worker's rights as he is mitigating legal responsibility. Corporations hate him, but he also hates innovation with risk. Just a sign of someone who not only refuses to think outside of the box, but wants the box to have nerf endcaps made of 100% recycled natural rubber and require 5 permits just to lift
/rant off.
That being said, I'm writing in Franken for President.

I was thinking the other day what's going on with Al. Since he got into Senate all the hoopla about him quieted down. OK, I know that he's been busy on some commissions, but for a guy I got to know him, he's been awfully quiet. So I checked his web site
http://alfranken.com/ and lo and behold - he's been busy! I think I could stand behind the idea of Franken for President.

I still have a bad feeling about Nader and the 2000 election, things would have been different if Gore won, we wouldn't have been stuck with W for eight years.
The Whistleblower Protection bill will be coming back, one of the Republican senators put a secret hold on it at the last minute supposedly at the behest of DOJ - DOJ never requested a hold. He'll be unmasked eventually.
Any alliance between progressives and libertarians will be an uncomfortable one. They can work together on some issues but they disagree on so many.

I don’t think anyone knows the details of how it’s going to happen, but it seems quite clear to me that by and large America is getting rather tired of politics as usual. “Change” is rarely that, and I’m not picking on Obama, every President says he’s going to “change” things, but the changes are so minor that most don’t recognize much change. The only thing that changes when we swap administrations are the rich pockets that get lined. I think people on the left are finally figuring out that the Democrats are the party of the rich, just like the Republicans. And people on the right are starting to figure out that the Republicans are every bit as big government as the Democrats are. Democrats pay lip service to representing the poor, and Republicans pay lip service to fiscal responsibility, but America is no longer buying the BS. We’re getting tired of the double speak, and at some point American’s are going to wake up to the underlying reason why things are the way they are, and that’s the completely uneven control the rich have over our political system. They need a seat at the table, but as it is right now, they own the friggin table, and everyone else isn’t even allowed in the room.

Gore is an idiot, but you really can’t do a worse job than W; makes for an easy grading curve.

Yep. Nader's a reform capitalist, nothing more. He doesn't mind corporations. He just thinks they need to be spanked every now and then to improve their behavior.
