There is a conference room in the Walter Reed Hospital presidential suite so that's likely real. Not all physicians are like Fauci, able to handle a very political environment but Fauci has been doing it since 1984. WH physician Conley is an osteopathic physician not an allopath like all previous WH physicians. Dexamethasone is a steroid drug tested in the UK on coronavirus pnts and found to be effective and cheap. It reduces inflammation and is normally used for asthma and COPD pnts.

Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid which has anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant effects.

The steroid may be used because of damage in Trump’s lungs and/or circulatory system. Doctors reported his lungs have been attacked by the virus and he needed supplemental oxygen. Indications are he is suffering well documented inflammatory symptoms of the disease wherein the body’s own immune system (white blood cells) are breaking down and attacking healthy cells in the lungs and blood capillaries throughout his body. This steroid stops that but also weakens his immune system’s ability to fight the virus.

Per Wikipedia:
The World Health Organization (WHO) states that dexamethasone should be reserved for seriously ill and critical patients receiving COVID-19 treatment in a hospital setting,[59] and the WHO Director-General stated that "WHO emphasizes that dexamethasone should only be used for patients with severe or critical disease, under close clinical supervision. There is no evidence this drug works for patients with mild disease or as a preventative measure, and it could cause harm."
Remember that (Linus Pauling famously suggested) Vitamin C has a strong anti-inflammatory effect on the body without the damaging effects of steroids. It is impossible to overdose on Vitamin C which shows just how important this vitamin is for the human body. But like any vitamin and minerals, it’s effects on the body can only be built up over time. They are not magic bullet drugs but aid your body’s innate ability to fight dangerous pathogens and maintain healthy homeostasis.

The WHO warning infers that Trump's condition is more serious if they're using the drug dexamethasone at this time. Everyone reacts differently to drugs, steroids make me very hyper and I can't sleep and on the two occasions I've had steroid injections I've been up over 24 hours. I refuse them now.

An attending physician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Sunday swiped at President Trump for leaving his hospital room and waving to supporters gathered outside from his motorcade, saying it puts those in the vehicle at risk.

"That Presidential SUV is not only bulletproof, but hermetically sealed against chemical attack. The risk of COVID19 transmission inside is as high as it gets outside of medical procedures. The irresponsibility is astounding. My thoughts are with the Secret Service forced to play," tweeted James Phillips, who is also the chief of disaster medicine at the George Washington University Department of Emergency Medicine.

"Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary Presidential 'drive-by' just now has to be quarantined for 14 days. They might get sick. They may die. For political theater. Commanded by Trump to put their lives at risk for theater. This is insanity," he continued.
Some also pointed out that Trump's drive appeared to violate Maryland public health guidance, which asks that COVID-19-positive people in the state quarantine and isolate themselves from other people.

I guess his attitude was, the Secret Service guys are paid to throw their bodies in front of bullets for me, to lay down their lives for mine. No one's even tried yet, how can I test out this job perk?

I can't tell if the treatments indicate that he's worse than they say, and trying to put a good show on - or if he's really such a germaphobe that he's ordered the to throw everything they've got at him. You know, this side of Clorox and chloroquine. Maybe even then.

I've sorta shut out all of the noise. Has anyone with a medical degree other than a paid mouthpiece pretending to be a naval officer...or is it a naval officer pretending to be a medical doctor...confirmed that this clown:

A) is positive for the virus?
B) has actually exhibited symptoms...any symptoms?

I'd like nothing better than to believe he's oh so slowly drowning in his own filth while what passes for blood in his veins gradually turns to paste...

But, absent reputable confirmation, I've finally signed on to the "it's a (conservative) hoax" pov.

Important lessons have been made clear and should be learned from this spate of Republicans getting the Covid-19 virus.

Only one death and he was the wrong color anyway.

People with Covid-19, even elderly folk with underlying conditions can still function with maybe a weekend off or Spa Day so there is simply no reason to shut businesses down.

Even in the important truly critical businesses like the Executive Branch and Senate of the US Government not wearing masks and ignoring all that socialist distancing stuff does not keep important work from getting done.

It is only liberals and socialists that cannot simply get with the program.

The Socialists in the House just want to keep paying people to not work.

Ah our eisenhower republican at it again blaming liberals and socialists, when the blame is squarely on the neoliberals and republicans.

On a side note Walter Reed messed up. When a patient endangers others regardless of who they are, you restrain them and then perform a psychiatric evaluation since he is obviously incapable of sound rational judgment. Again we see a failure to perform a duty to the people. He’s going to survive Covid and he will try to use it to his political advantage and continue to endanger others. I’m keeping hope alive that karma does her job.

But there is an underlying truth & threat in the sarcasm which is that what I posted is what is being marketed as reality by today's Republicans. If they can use this, even if dishonestly, as justification of a continued laisse faire position it really could change the election landscape.

There is a current today that those who die from Covid-19 were not essential and in fact were a high cost liability and so are quite simply, expendable.

You're right, Sig230. This will be spun as a win for republican "just the flu, bro" antics and continue to undermine public health. I suspect it will even give Trump a bump in the election race. His loyal followers will attribute him god-like qualities (the orange pope emerges from quarantine to wave to us, what a brave and selfless man--while we're all horrified by the reckless endangerment of his body guards). Those on the fence and sick of masks/lockdowns/closed schools (Covid fatigue) will fall off of the fence, lured toward the "nothing burger" of fuck it, let's vote for the orange guy because, if he can survive, we all can so let's get back to business as usual (premier early treatment and access to experimental therapeutics and a 10-doc team notwithstanding). It's a tragedy in the making because the repugs will have learned the opposite of the truth and become even more careless. Fun times. I can't wait for this election to be over.

Same here, just 29 days to Election Day. Trump is always looking for ways to motivate his base, but his base alone won't win him the election, not even all the white supremacists. This week and next there will be polls after his hospitalization and next week on yesterday's drive-by, we'll see if he got a sympathy boost. Trump's hoping to be discharged today.

maybe we need to point out that being hospitalized for the better part of a week with the best care in the world including experimental drugs is not "just an flu". and this hoax notion is so obviously bullcrap, it shouldn't need to be pointed out, but trumpsters, sooo...
ETA: actually, i just did that on FB, but i likely ran off the trumpsters long ago so i doubt any of them will see it.
