Bill is his usual abrasive self, while Leno is his usual douche bag self.
I do like the Palin zing and how Chief Big Chin back stabber, seems a bit unpleased at that joke.

Some people just don't get it.
Rights based on needs aren't rights. Who determines my need for free speech? Who determines my need to practice my (well, nonexistent) religion?
Rights based on needs are privileges granted to subjects.

Such a shame. I normally really like what Maher has to say. Mostly about religion and drug legalization though. Surprising he's such an idiot when it comes to guns.

He's into what ever cause he thinks will get him laid. I like his show and watch it when ever its on but I also think he's a phoney.

I think Bill's views are typical of big city liberals. The greatest divide in this country on guns is urban vs rural not right vs left.
I don't think Bill is a phony, I think some of his stances on certain things have evolved over time - and I think most of us would say the same thing.
I do think he is condescending and a smartass. But I almost always enjoy watching him - although I must admit to never watching a full version of his show as I have never had HBO.

I don't like the NRA and I don't like Maher much more. The NRA is a conservative, pro-military organization which claims to defend gun rights when in fact they were a huge force behind the so-called 'Assault Weapons' bans. Why? Because big businesses like Colt and S&W were losing out to cheap imported AK47s and foreign high-capacity handguns like the CZ.
Maher, on the other hand, claims to be a liberal and a libertarian but he is in fact neither. He's willing to sell out gun owners and shill for the warfare state and pretty much rationalize anything the corporatist lackeys in the Dem. party want to do.

I agree with his views on science and how he points out the stupidity of the religious right. I don't get HBO or whatever premium channel he is on. So the only time I watch him are clips that I see posted to various websites. He sure is funny. I tend to agree with what I've seen from him, but then again I don't watch his whole show, just clips.

Oh, yeah, he is good on pointing out that religious fanatics and militaristic 'Christians' are nutters. But a lot of the stuff he pushes/defends is just as bad as what Pat Robertson's after.

He is ONLY an entertainer and nothing more. Everything he recites on his show is written by a staff of sketch writers. Much like beck or the other pseudo journalists.

True, but he is just as good in interviews. I tend to agree with him on many things and I find his 'new rules' bit funny. He tends to be very centrist on many things and that seems to turn many people off. Being centrist on some things, right wing on others and left wing on others doesn't make him a hypocrite... its just means he is wrong about 1/3 of the time
