This crap gets my blood pressure up. Too bad there's no aerobic benefit in it for me.

There is no communicating with some folks on subjects they have filed a certain way. I remind myself I'm banging my head when I get in these pissing matches. I do get a few PMs from spineless freethinkers who want to pat me on the back for "standing up" and then run off. I send them the LGC link and say thanks.

That was a good post Son. I never stuck around long enough to deal with idiots like that. Like Paladin, I can't even see the topic headlines so I figure to get my gun information from other sources.

I tried, but it just gets to be a bore... especially when the guy who took a couple of community college economics courses begins to lecture on " duh freeee markut".

I lurk on a number of them to pick up information, mostly Calguns which is full of condescending assholes. All you have to do is read their tag lines to find out their politics or religious beliefs and they feed on each other. The mods are just as bad if they disagree with you. I'd much rather skim through websites than have to sit through a seven hour gun course from one of these pricks, that would be real pain. California gun law is convoluted and I can skim Calguns and find out the latest.

I've given up on arguing politics with the repug monkeys on other gun forums, in fact I've given up on other gun forums period. The only other gun forum I post on is occasionally the Tallahassee forum, and only because it's local, in hopes of drumming up some business.

I only follow here too. I don't have time nor do I feel the need to post elsewhere after finding LGC. You and the guys here and gal are a breath of fresh air and I continue to learn from different view points as well as a level of intelligence and respect I can appreciate. Plus I can still bitch and groan and express my love or hatred, by the way, If I here someone call Palin "Governor Palin" one more time I'll shoot my fucking tv. She quit and didn't finish her term and does not deserve to be refered to as ex Governor or any other official term except maybe captain of the fuckin iceberg. Thanks for listening. Anyway I feel good here and with an attitude like mine, the more positive information I can obsorb the less likely I'll end up on the ID channel.

After that particular thread I took the advice from someone who said we are guests and should not take for granted our stay. I realized I was sucked in and started another thread labeled "I Apologize". A moderator "English Mike" sent me a PM thanking me for writing something that he thought would bring us all to a common ground. Guns. It worked for a few but eventually lead to more negative controversy. I got sick and told that Ismurphy guy a few things that got me banned. Didn't go as planned, but I know you can't win them all. I guess I was determined to try to make people different from me see the common thing we signed on for. Fascination with guns.

Back to the subject under discussion...

I used to follow the Sigforum because of a genuine interest in certain related issues...but found that the pistol discussion was regularly dominated by a group of assholes who pontificated from imagined authority.

I was completely unaware of their political discussion section until I ventured out of the pistol threads.

An eye opening experience. I had heard that there actually existed morons of such magnitude that they are capable of sucking all the oxygen out of a room, but had not encountered any until then.

You see this place? I joined because, although a Liberal (moderate), I am also a survivalist nut and a huge fan of the SKS. I did not like the floating firing pin, and through these boards I was able to purchase and install a spring-loaded firing pin that works much, much better for my peace of mind. So I joined.

What they don't show mere pedestrians is that there are subforums of that board only members can see. Teabagger subforums. Lots of them. The owner of the board is a rabid teabagger, a birther, and a racist who perpetually laments the "war" that Mexico is "waging" on us. (He's also a born and raised Houstonian, and insists that any Texan living north of Houston is a Yankee. ) Needless to say, but I will anyway, the majority of the members on that site are, in fact, also teabaggers.
So when an atheist with a past in bible study, raised on welfare, middle class, liberal, mixed race member joined, it quickly got ugly. My favorite was when one of the long time members, an old white man from Arizona (coincidence?), threw a complete tantrum over all the brown people "with no religion" invading his country, and told me that if I didn't love Jesus, I needed to "get out of this nation."

I responded with a profane series of graphics where Elmo the Muppet taught him the constitution, and was subsequently banned.

Amusingly, I searched my username over there just now, and they are paranoid that any new member who joins that shows even slightly Liberal tendencies is now me under a sock puppet account. (I have not done this.) I was banned months ago. Bitchez know my name, verily.
