Re: 7.62x54r 150 grain softpoints?

I read on forums that heavy ball 160gr+ can harm PSLs without modifying the gas system. I know PPU sells them but they're sold out everywhere. On another note who is hoarding full power rifle cartages in weird calibers. I can find plenty of tulamo, but 7.62x54r soft points are kind of odd. Are people using Mosins SVTs or PSLs for defense? I may just install a KNS gas piston to fire heavy ball that'll solve a lot of my problems.

Privi makes things in batches so they may be on a tail end of the supply. Of course now they'll probably be focusing on things that have more demand than 7.62x54r

Don't modify the gas system. Those blocks look ugly as hell. You'd have to shoot a LOT of 160+gr to harm your trunion, but if you're worried about it, put in a plastic recoil buffer. Easy $10 fix. If you're REALLY worried about it, you can always add an additional port in your barrel for the upgassed loads. I would only recommend that as a last resort though.
