The follow up article talks about how the kid had previous violent incidents. He has 2 loaded firearms in his room. I might teach and take my son shooting at that age, but there would be no way that I would allow a 10 year old to completely possess a firearm without supervision. This is especially true of a 10 year old with a history of aggressive acting out. You just do not reason well at that age. The concept of finality and death is not firmly integrated yet.
This is a sad story.

100% agreed.
I'm about as pro-gun as it gets but there is no way I'd let any child possess a gun in their room.
