July started with an additional 270 cases and three additional deaths. June 1 we had 9 cases so we are only starting the month at 30 times as many daily cases as last month.

"And I think we're going to be very good with the coronavirus. I think that at some point that's going to sort of just disappear. I hope."

Well, not today.

Maybe tomorrow it will just disappear.

I hope.

And, for the first time, the USA broke the 50,000 barrier for new cases in a single day.

Well, we know what we have to do. If we possibly can, we stay home. If we go out, we mask, distance, no toucha da face, washy washy on the hands. Just pay attention.

I have five people infected on my street, two in the ICU, one had a COVID related heart attack. We don't know if he will make it.

In my county there was a total of 196 new confirmed cases yesterday, that seems very low so if it follows their pattern lately we'll get higher numbers over the next few days. Three additional deaths so 258 but still a 2% fatality rate. 6,602 tests were performed yesterday, their target is 3,288 per day. Hospitalizations for COVID-19 was 393, of that 138 were in ICU and 96 pnts were on ventilators. 508 ventilators available but all that data is still three days behind.

In Orange County, CA home of "freedom protests" over lock downs and masks, Newport Beach is closing beaches this weekend because lifeguards tested positive for COVID-19 and many of the others were quarantined. And beaches in Huntington Beach, Seal Beach and Laguna Beach will also close this weekend. The governor didn't close the state beaches but closed the parking lots which effectively closes the beaches.
For months, rural Lassen County [borders Nevada] held a pandemic distinction as one of the only counties in California with zero confirmed cases of COVID-19. The sparsely populated Northern California county, which did not report its first coronavirus case until May 22, was one of the first in the state to ease social restrictions and reopen public life. But now, a major outbreak among inmates at a state prison in Susanville, linked to the transfer of inmates from San Quentin State Prison, has frustrated local officials who say the state’s movement of infected prisoners now poses a grave danger to their community.

“The sentiment is really of disappointment with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, to disregard the impact on our community with regard to their policy of moving inmates around,” said Richard Egan, the county spokesman. As of Wednesday, there were 214 cases at the California Correctional Center in Susanville. There also were five confirmed cases at the adjoining High Desert State Prison. Outside of the prisons, Lassen County has reported just 14 cases since the pandemic began. There have been no deaths and no hospitalizations, Egan said.

Last report I saw estimated 1/3 of the inmates at San Quentin State Prison (Marin County) were infected with the virus.

You guys need to chill - Prez says CV-19 is going away and will disappear soon - he hopes. For a "hoax" CV-19 has really caused havoc due to not disappearing in March or April or May or June. Unemployment numbers down to 11.1%, the economy is on fire. Things are really looking up !!

Over a week straight where new cases have not once slipped below the 5,000/day mark in Florida. Yesterday's numbers aren't out yet but we have no reason to believe they'll be significantly better.

The 20’s age group are really showing a typical youth disregard for everything but their own wants. Inconsiderate and selfish are the terms that will identify this generation.

by easter. he said it will be gone by easter.
he hopes. he'd better hope, because that's all he has left (cue pandora). viruses (er, virii) are one of those "reality" things that you can't just name a tv show after and make them leave the stage when you're ready for a commercial break.

Happy almost Independence Day? Seems appropriate we'd add 56,890 cases to celebrate our freedom to not wear a mask, no? Surely that's cases of actual beer, not Corona.

Today may be last report until Monday since the County offices will close Friday for the Holiday.

Two hundred and Sixty-eight additional cases added and unfortunately seven more deaths. One of the deaths was only 20 years old.

Still hearing that it's all a hoax to hurt Trump and to get more money in the hospitals.

And the age-sex breakdown continues to skew towards the kids.

Note they had to change the scale yet again. It seems the scale needs to be revised about every other day.

496 new cases yesterday in my county for a total of 13,152 and most of the cases are in the 20-39 age range. It's increased to 43 in my town but only 1 death. County deaths are up to 265 but still a 2% fatality rate. Hospitalizations of confirmed and suspected COVID-19 is 516 and 170 of those are ICU pnts. They are now using 60 beds into their surge capacity of 1,059. That data is still two days behind.

Over night I began living in Mask City. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I've a pretty ugly mug from no shaving or trimming so I've got eyebrows like baling wire.
