I am new here and wanted to see if you all know of any good online stores to buy ammunition where I am not putting money into the pockets of crazy Republicans and then to the NRA. Entry site I see has some crazy manifesto about the crazy liberals trying to take away their guns. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is or was an FFL in MA who favored heavy restrictions, banning semi-automatic carbines, and imposing mandatory registration. For years he was a darling of publications that support the same--like HuffPo. I don't know of his affiliations, if he is still in business, or if he would/could ship ammo out of state.

Are you in a ban state or free state?

Yeah, good luck with that. Let us know if you find one. My general approach is just to patronize those businesses that don't overtly advertise that kind of stuff. There's a local gun store in my area that is good about keeping politics out of the stores, so they are the ones I buy from most often.

It's just a question of names. Republicans use the names Democrat, Socialist, Liberal and Communist interchangeably. Democrats use Republican, Fascist, Nazi and even Libertarian interchangeably. Gun control is a plank in the Democratic Party platform. So, yes Democrats have a problem with gun owners and most people in the guns and ammo business. These owners and folks in the business are reacting to implacable hostility from the Democratic Party. These folks don't give a fuck that you think being a Liberal is different than being a rote Democrat. Explaining eloquently that you don't support that Gun Control part of the platform isn't going to do anything but aggravate people, both Ds and Rs.
Maybe you might write to every one of your elected representatives and tell them if they vote for repressive gun control you won't vote for them and magically Dems will pull their heads out and focus on positive actions that Dems do best and win the next election. Joe Biden isn't going to figure this out by Nov, but Bernie might.

bernie at least admitted that confiscation might be unconstitutional, and as far as i can tell he's the only candidate on either side to acknowledge that. but bernie's a social democrat, so no, we can't have that. sorry, sorry, never mind.

so, bud, as you can see, we are a little skeptical about slavishly following party lines here. i think most of us are aware that life is not all binary choices. sometimes, yes, you've got to choose either A or B, (when C or D might be better) but the world is mostly more complicated than that. by all means, vote with your dollars. and think.

Indeed, When Sam opens up again, try and do your business there. I've never seen anything on his site but ammo-related stuff. The gentle prodding, relative to the 'climate' is all.

For the last few years, SGAmmo has been my go to source for online orders. Their prices and shipping costs seem reasonable, plus they process and ship my orders really fast. They're a relatively small company based on Stillwater Oklahoma, so they are overwhelmed by the current spike in demand.

LAXammo has always been my go-to ammo supplier. I've never seen anything political on their site or spam mail. Their ammo is good, inexpensive, and ships quickly.

Oh - and they always have Fathers Day sales, if you can wait a couple weeks.

I roll my own..not .22 of course as I shoot very little .22 and have thousands of rounds gifted to me by my late FIL. If one is very serious about training and shooting I highly recommend reloading or hand loading (not the same thing) as it seems we are going to have more of these demand spikes as The Republic circles the toilet and fear causes hoarding.

When you can, buy new/used presses and tools and dies and lay in powder, primers and bullets. Even then it will be hard to find components in these times.

That said virtually all of the online ammo and firearm places actively support the NRA and Republicans who profess to want to preserve gun ownership Rights. It's just one of those things where we tend to support organizations that we perceive/believe are supporting US as a gun owner.

This has wiped out supply stockpiles and driven prices up substantially from the 12 year bottom they hit in 2019 and early 2020. All things considered, I believe we still have some decent deals in stock, admittedly not as good as they were in 2019, but still reasonable in today's market. If you are sitting on large quantities of ammo it might be wise to sit it out for a while but if you are short in supply it might be a good idea to get a few cases before availability gets worse.
