The proton pack, designed by Dr. Egon Spengler, is a man-portable particle accelerator system that is used to create a charged particle beam—composed of protons—that is fired by the proton gun (also referred to as the "neutrona wand").

Villanueva first mentioned it at a press conference.
Unserialized weapons, colloquially known as “ghost guns,” entered the American imagination as the creation of hobbyists and backyard tinkerers. But as they’ve grown in popularity, criminals have identified ghost guns as a way to get around California’s restrictive gun laws. This class of weapons is easy to buy, and undetectable to authorities, because they are built without the government’s knowledge.
Now California law enforcement members are encountering ghost guns being made by criminals building them in their basement, as well as organized groups churning out untraceable firepower by the hundreds. “We’ve seen machine shops where they are lining them up and and completing them in 20-minute intervals, with three or four machines going at once,” said Barlowe, the ATF agent in Sacramento.

No serial number for tracing, but bullets can be compared to match to crimes if the criminals didn't swap out barrels.

But, but. That's illegal. Those aren't even on the roster!

Has California created a new black market with all it's gun restrictions? Unpossible, I say.

The idea that unserialized receivers are some new threat to the public is a little strange. I guess they are stretching out the concept of guns as dangerous?

"organized groups churning out untraceable firepower by the hundreds"

Sounds a lot like the far-right version: "organized groups bringing immigrants into the country by the hundreds."

Third world countries in the mideast don't have gun laws like we do. Geez. It's unconstitutional. How are we to effectively fight terrorism with little semi-autos?

A person who could not legally own a gun got an illegal gun and did an illegal thing in the state with the most gun laws? shock.

With ammo they couldn't have legally acquired, presumably in a place that guns are illegal to posses.
