At Least 5 Victims Wounded In Shooting At Saugus High In Santa Clarita
Five people suffered gunshot wounds, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Ortiz told CBS2. Henry Mayo Hospital reported that it was treating two patients in critical condition and had another three en route.
Authorities were searching for a male Asian suspect in black clothing, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department reports. The suspect was still at large as of 8:30 a.m. He was last seen running west towards Highlands Elementary School, Ortiz said.
“She heard the shots as well, she was in the quad where it started, and ran to the band room and locked the door behind her and told everybody to get down,” Skiba disclosed.

Probably a student, but who knows? I hope it wasn't as bad as first reported.

I usually listen into the news stations at lunch but this is all they are covering. Just in time for the Dem debate next week....

We don’t yet have all the details of the horrifying events in Santa Clarita. But we do know that in America today, children are scared to go to school. Parents and teachers are terrified. And that can’t stand. It is time to hold the NRA and our leaders in Washington accountable.

Harris is on it, as well. Never let a tragedy go to waste when running a campaign. Yuck.

We've already got every "reasonable" and "common sense" gun control known to Democrats here in California. If they worked, we'd expect different results than continued gun homicide, mass shooting and school shooting. Perhaps we need to look at a different way to address violence as a whole than restrictive laws that don't work?

Left: NRA! Guns!

Right: Planned Parenthood! Abortion!

They all seem so worried about "the children" when they can make donor appeals, eh?

There is a shooting in a Santa Clarita high school with at least five injured, two critically. You know why? Guns. NRA. Mitch McConnell. That son of a bitch has taken $1.2 million in bribes from the NRA to make sure we have no gun control at all. And it's our kids who get shot.

He's not wrong on McConnell or the NRA. He's wrong about gun laws, though. California has plenty of gun laws and our kids still get shot. I believe ownership of handguns has been 18, now 21, so the kid got it (reported as a .45 semi auto) illegally somehow. We also have requirements to prevent minors from gaining possession of someone else's handgun (storage requirements). We also have ammunition background checks and must be 21 to purchase handgun ammo.

How would more laws have prevented this? Seriously.

Yes, it gives politicians that slimy appearance like used car salesmen.

Two dead (16 yr old girl and 14 yr old boy) and the shooter is in grave condition from a gunshot wound to the head. :(

Charles C.W. Cooke:
16-Year-Olds Are Not Allowed Guns in California
Gun-control activists and Democratic presidential candidates have seized upon this news in order to advance the idea that it is time to pass whatever proposals they were already peddling, and, in concert, to blame those who disagree with them. In response, advocates of the right to keep and bear arms have pointed out that the shooting happened in California, which already has all the laws that Democrats in Congress tell us are necessary. This response is correct, of course, but it is also irrelevant given that the perpetrator was 16-years-old and that this case therefore doesn’t fit within our gun-control debate at all. In California, 16-year-olds are ineligible to buy handguns, to possess handguns, to carry handguns, and to take handguns onto school property. Nothing that was done here was legal at any point. No “loophole” was exploited. No liberty was abused. This was illegal from start to finish. Unless one is making a case for the forcible confiscation of every gun in America, there’s not a great deal to debate here.

A very sad day indeed.
With all this news - hopefully the truth comes out as to how this hatred manifested itself in this child where he felt the need to kill others.

Therefore we should ban "Assault weapons" like AK-47s and AR-15s and other semi-automatic rifles.

from the link in post 3. not terrifically clear in the context. odd, as if it slipped in by accident.
"Berhow turned 16 on Thursday, Wegener said. He was hospitalized in grave condition, Villanueva said. His gun, a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol, was found at the scene with no rounds in it."
apparently it was his birthday.
