Re: Biolite
2I own their large BaseCamp stove and have enjoyed using it for car camping a handful of times. It is certainly more efficient and faster to cook using twigs in their rocket stove design rather than on an open fire. The cellphone charger aspect of it does work but is reliant on an internal rechargeable battery which has a certain lifespan and isn’t easily replaceable. At least the company doesn’t sell just the battery. I don’t know what will happen to the stove if the battery dies, whether the generator part of it will continue to work and charge cellphones and other battery operated devices via USB cable.
So it gets a 3 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

4I have the camp stove. It’s awesome. Charges 1 phone. Slowly. Eats wood chips and anything else around camp. Have plenty of fuel. Stays operational for hours.
