Thank goodness because justice is served. Her defense attorneys had mention the Castle defense, load of BS in this case. Dallas was in preparation for protests and worried about violence if she had walked or got a slap on the wrist.

The fact that she was a woman and there was "sexting" probably, sadly, entered into it.
But yeah, justice served.

She admitted it at the scene, it was her gun. She was going to get convicted of some degree of murder. Yes, justice served.

Castle Doctrine would have been valid if the man she murdered had shot her instead. It doesn't work when you break and enter into someone else's apartment.
