Do not recommend: Winchester USA Forged Steel Case

Absolute pile of rubbish. Picked up some at local Walmart. Cheap, but that is about it.

Shoots fine when it does, which isn't saying much. Had more than a few jams, where the slide was almost to battery, with a live round stuck in the chamber. Was a bear to clear, almost like the extractor did not like the round. Not fun!

Happened with the Walther Creed and the Beretta PX4 Storm. Won't be buying again.

Yeah, steel case only works well in combloc weapons with extractor claws designed for that. I shot some steel case in my Springer .45 just to see if it would run, which it did. Got a box stashed, as I know I'll never just whip that out for a range trip. I say nay on steel case unless there's an unobtainium extractor claw involved.

Used Steel Cases for my first range outing after training and had at least 10 jamups out of 100 rounds; switched to Federal RTP and even the process of loading the magazines was night and day. Same issue as OP, often the casing would still be in the chamber and a live round would slam against it, and now I have nice little bits of scratched finish in my M9. The wasters in Mad Max probably had better ammo than whatever this garbage is.

Thanks for sharing, Grizzled Veteran. I bought 3 boxes of this ammo against my better judgement--the steel marring my chamber or the casings expanding and getting stuck were both major concerns, but I couldn't find any other 9mm under $50 a box. Figured I'd try it in my CZ and see if a former eastern bloc sidearm would handle it, but will relegate it to the bottom of the ammo bag. A friend told me BiMart in this neck o the woods has had 9mm last two times he went (in October 2020) for $11.99/box.
