More Than 100 Weapons, 35,000 Rounds Of Ammunition Confiscated Under Maryland’s Red Flag Law In PG County In Last Year
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — More than 100 weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition have been recovered in Prince George’s County under Maryland’s new red flag law- which temporarily bans people who are dangerous from having guns.

The law allows only immediate family members or law enforcement to actually petition the court to take those weapons away from people who are either a threat to themselves or to others.

It’s been less than a year since the new red flag law took effect but Dawn Stoltzfus with Moms Demand Action said it’s already proving to save lives.

OK, at first I did not see that the figures were for a whole year. I thought it was one incident.

There were 56 orders served. That's 1.78 guns per protective order. So a pistol and an occasional rifle.
And 625 rounds per order. So a brick of .22's and a couple of boxes of 9mm.
Yet when that put all of the numbers together, it makes it look like this massive haul of death machines!!!!

What I want to know is how many false alarms were there????

Edit: And what did the false alarm owners have to do to get their guns back.

It's the old sales trick. If you want it to seem really impressive, use the largest possible number, if you want them to think something is really affordable, break it down to the smallest number possible. If they really wanted to pump those numbers up they could speculate it over the course of 10 years by saying, we estimate that over the next ten years we will have taken 1000 weapons of death off the street at 350,0000 rounds of ammunition....... Perhaps I should not give them ideas.

For a county of almost 1 million population bordering the eastern side of DC, 56 extreme risk protection orders doesn't seem like a lot. Could be easy to find 56 people with mental health or dementia issues that have firearms. The media hypes it and so will Everytown and all the anti-gunner organizations.
