Republican says Michigan GOP will challenge Dem electors: ‘There could be outbreaks of violence in Lansing’

During a radio interview with WPHM-AM this Monday morning, Michigan Republican Rep. Gary Eisen said that as Democratic electors convene at the state Capitol to cast their votes for President-elect Joe Biden, he couldn’t necessarily guarantee their safety.

“Can you assure me that this is going to be safe day in Lansing, nobody’s going to get hurt?” radio host Paul Miller asked Eisen.

“No,” Eisen responded. “I don’t know because what we’re doing today is uncharted. It hasn’t been done.”

During the interview, Eisen cryptically described what would occur on Monday in Lansing as a “historic event” and said it “will be all over the news later on.” He also said there had been a “bomb threat phoned in from Wisconsin.”

“I’m on a football team. We have one more play. Am I just going to give up or am I going to do that Hail Mary?” he said. “Will it change the outcome of the election? Probably not… At least we have one play left. We’ll throw that ball. We’re warned right now that there could be outbreaks of violence in Lansing.”

According to the Washington Post, “credible threats of violence” ahead of the state’s electoral college vote Monday have forced Michigan’s top lawmakers to close all legislative offices in Lansing.

this morning on Fox, Steve Miller claimed that swing states were creating "alternate electors" to vote in favor of Trump and that those votes would also be sent to Congress. Alt Facts for an Alt Government? Sounds like fucking treason to me.

Sounds like election interference to me, but I saw somewhere that someone already sent an alternate elector list to the DC archivist. Who promptly laughed it off.

They gots to be certified, yo. This isn't like your degree from a prestigious non-accredited university based on current life experience.

Stephen Miller, Trump's "eminence grise".
Miller, appearing on Fox News as a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, brushed off the idea that the Electoral College vote marked any kind of end to the process.

"The only date in the Constitution is Jan. 20. So we have more than enough time to right the wrong of this fraudulent election result and certify Donald Trump as the winner of the election," Miller said on "Fox & Friends."

"As we speak, today, an alternate slate of electors in the contested states is going to vote and we're going to send those results up to Congress," he continued. "This will ensure that all of our legal remedies remain open. That means that if we win these cases in the courts, that we can direct that the alternate state of electors be certified."

Woke up this morning to the headline that Vladimir Putin congratulated Biden on winning the presidency and now the headline is Mitch McConnell is congratulating Biden as president-elect. Next time a Republican is elected president, wait five weeks before publicly admitting it.

What CDF refers to.
Joe Biden has selected Judge Merrick Garland to serve as his attorney general, according to two people with knowledge of the decision.

Biden selected Garland over former Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) and former deputy attorney general Sally Yates, choosing to elevate the former chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals in D.C. to run the Justice Department.

In 2016, President Barack Obama nominated Garland to serve on the Supreme Court, but his nomination languished in the GOP-controlled Senate at the end of the former president’s term. In recent weeks, Garland has been recusing himself from cases involving the federal government, fueling speculation that he was a leading candidate for the job.

In a Republican-controlled Senate, Jones was viewed as the easiest candidate to get confirmed given his strong relationships across the aisle. Garland was also considered a risk in that it would be difficult to confirm a replacement for him on the appellate court.

Garland is currently a judge formerly chief judge of the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. Garland was nominated by Obama to replace Scalia on SCOTUS but the Senate never voted on the nomination.

Looking forward to Mitch's sudden retirement to a non-extradition country, under the circumstances. I hear China's offered him an invite.

Okay, those are the voices in my head, but the point remains.

Garland is an interesting choice. Maybe not my first, but bringing an appellate judge's perspective to the job is intriguing. Speaks to some carefully crafted prosecutions.

I think it's all about Hunter Biden and the current DOJ investigations. Biden knows Doug Jones.

Statement from the White House:
Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!
I'm not convinced the fireworks are over.

Yeah, the magatears will really flow when he's barred from leaving America, barred from Merde a Lago, and hounded by lawyers on Jan. 21. He will be glad right then to be arrested by the Feds.

"While this represents the end of the greatest fuck-up of a first term in presidential history.." Fixed it!

I'm not convinced one iota that the claim of "an orderly transition" is anything but another Trump lie. I fully expect another coup attempt, perhaps better organized.
