I'm STUNNED that NYC isn't higher, and that Newark isn't on the list at all! And DC is only 20th? Not Top Ten??????
I know L.A. is really bad, but I'd have thought Atlanta is worse--everyone there drives like wannabe NASCAR racers.

Terrible drivers I'd agree with, not sure that aggressive is the right term. Go drive in Puerto Vallarta or Cancun and tell me again that Los Angeles has aggressive drivers. Either that or my aggressive driver calibration is way off- I've spent time driving in 8 of the top 10 in the last 10 years so it could well be that my perception is warped.

Surprised Dallas/Fort Worth is 12th...bunch of maniacs, no-one drives the speed limit.
I always cringed at the sight of a Pick-up truck with a high lift kit on it, and you look up in the cab and all you see two little hands on the steering wheel.
Police officers are routinely killed while stopping a motorist on a road for a traffic infraction and get hit by a passing vehicle.

I have the Gas Buddy app. Works well for me as gas in CA can vary greatly from one station to another.
I have the app set so it only tracks me when I'm using the app so I'm not a part of this study, too many privacy issues and battery drain for me.

20 years ago, #31 would have been "anywhere SenorGrand is driving." I'm pretty chill now.

If they define "aggressive" as selfish & stupid, then I think ATL should be higher in the list. It's like they don't know that turn signals exist.
In LA, I remember that people would generally signal before making aggressive moves. Freeway shootings kept people a lot more polite, I thought.

Not exactly a scientific study...... the primary criteria was: "The analysts assessed the frequency of speeding, hard braking and swift acceleration to gauge aggressiveness." I wouldn't consider any of that aggressive unless it was done to pass, cut-off, or somehow make another driver's commute less enjoyable.

I agree not the most scientific study. And many foreign countries are worse, I think of Turkey. I never found Sacto (#3) drivers that bad during the week. Maybe it's all those Bay Area drivers either going to the Sierras or going back home.

I had a couple of friends over the years from Nigeria and no matter WHERE they were, they insisted that Lagos drivers are #1! The absolute WORST and CRAZIEST on Earth!

Well, that is just a normal freeway drive in the big city. "...speeding, hard braking and swift acceleration " describes defensive driving to avoid the actual aggressive drivers.

Washington and Baltimore are definitely too low on the list. Philadelphians may have their issues but hey are nowhere nearly as aggressive.

Don't know about cities, but when I was in the service (admittedly Vietnam era) my commanding officer, a mustang LT who had been an EM, Chief and warrant, and consequently had been around a long time, told me the worst drivers he'd seen were in Ohio and Illinois.

They have Portland and Seattle reversed.
Washington drivers drive more aggressively than Oregon drivers. In WA, if you signal to change lanes it’s common for the car in the adjacent lane to stomp on his accelerator to squeeze you out. That’s a well known Washington thing; Oregon drivers don’t really do that.
Also, WA drivers on average drive faster and change lanes more frequently for the sake of gaining a couple car lengths.

True, though I was relieved to see a better measure than I have in a similar list in the past. They used something like number of accidents or similar, ugh.

I have gotten into more near misses just passing through Sacramento than I did in weeks in the Bay Area.

Portland is full of Washington drivers from Vantucky. Portlanders don't seem to know what a solid line means; watch what they do in the Sunset Tunnels.

I didn't even see Portland. They drive aggressively
for Oregon. That is a generally pokey state. This is surprisingly accurate:

I've seen some real donnybrooks break out, especially on that exit off US26 onto 6th avenue; screaming, yelling, drinks and fast food bags being thrown.

I think large metro areas with lousy freeway systems tend to breed drivers that are jerks. Roads choked with traffic and rush hour is 24 hrs a day.
Nothing can compare to driving in a southern state when they have a freak snow fall. 2"s of snow and the roads become freeways of death.

They aren’t stupid. The cause is the roads they were laid out following cow trails and drunks with everything feeding into Broadway and Alamo Plaza. I will admit their freeway loop is the weirdest layout for enter and exit ramps.

As for SATX drivers, we'll have to agree to disagree.

They also (County/City/TX DoT), are in process of correcting all the freeway entrance/exit at same location. The road I travel most 410/35S to 35/410W have had near all corrected as well as those heading east/west on 410. It has made road rage in some areas a thing of the past (to some extent). The worst one now is 35S downtown/IH10 exit/IH37/281to 35S - what a cluster fuck.
Having said that, I'd rather drive in Mexico City, Philippines or about any 3rd world nation, than Austin, TX.
