The wife and I wore out three or four of Supertramps cassette tapes and CD's. Got the vinyl too. This first one has several hits on it. Best of the best and lots of piano which I love. We listened to it on long drives to the bay area back in the day when we lived there in the 80's.
This is in it's entirety. Just let it run.

Not my favorite, but one that I enjoy for background music. It's not Hula, or Don Ho, or Hawaiian steel guitar, and it not the traditional easy listening music. It Hawaiian Slack-key Guitar. You can't compare it to anything else.

Punk rock and metal all the way. Though I do enjoy The Mountain Goats as well as Jim Lindberg's "Songs from the Elkhorn Trail" -- though I prefer his work with Pennywise -- the song "Good Enough" sends chills down my spine every time is definitely my favorite on that album.

I'm stuck in the 50's, 60's, 70's with 80's a loss gen and 90's not much better - rock, R&B, Folk. Not much currently peaks my time or interest.

Chic Corea and Return to Forever with Stanley Clarke. Saw them front row center in Costa Mesa in like 75 or 6. Stunning. There is no music I won't listen to, but some types I do not seek out.

I've come to like this group as well. They're young, but precise, and they're having a great time playing music.

BTW, I'm having some trouble doing embedded links from YouTube so that it appears like tonguengroover's post does above. Any suggestions?

I’ve been on a huge black/extreme metal kick lately: Enslaved, Opeth, Satyricon, emperor etc.

We (my oldest & I) recently saw the ‘reconstituted’ Pantera & Megadeth this summer.

For extreme metal I recommend Heaven Shall Burn. For black metal I recommend 1349.

tonguengroover wrote: Mon Sep 04, 2023 3:32 pm I use this other Youtu_be url, seems to work better than the one your using. But you did it correctly.

Excellent jam and the band is awesome. Bass player is tight. I'm in love.
They are quite good. Let's try using the youtu_be URL like you suggested. Does this work better?

BTW, here's the 20-minute version by the Phil Collins Big Band at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. This is actually my favorite version of the piece. They used the same arrangement that the AWB themselves used at that same Jazz Festival 20 years previously, in 1978. And they did it justice.
