Used to love rock like Motley Crew, Skid Row, Metallica, MegaDeth, Pantera, etc. My best friend’s folks worked at a tee shirt screen printing shop and did all their concert tees. We got free tickets to a lot of shows. In High school my tastes veered toward Death Metal, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Unleashed, Dismember, Carcass, etc. so many amazing band projects, so few musicians. Then I got into electronic music thanks to Skinny Puppy. They kind of bridged the gap between insanely fast and dark music with profoundly intricate, mind twisting, brain candy like Ozric Tentacle, Obital, the Orb, Underworld, Spacetime Continuum, Chemical Brothers, etc. More recently I’ve been exploring Jazz, music from other countries/in other languages and revisiting the death metal bands of old, seeing what new projects are crawling up front the flaming pits of evil. I’ve enjoyed a lot of music that doesn’t fit any of those genres, like Outkast, Blackalicious, Monster Magnet, Grungy stuff like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Weezer. Punk and stuff like Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. I’ve basked in the dark of Black Metal with many greats, Emperor being one of my all times favs. In my Anthropology days, I was exposed to many kinds of traditional music, learned to play the didgeridoo, learned I could enjoy bluegrass and studied music in relation to religion.

Wish there was more time to enjoy more music 🙃

My often played playlists-

But my playlists are vast. Rock, country, oldies (50s to 70s) lots of blues of various flavors, appalachia, celtic trad, scandanavian folk, metal etc etc etc.

Reviving this thread as I work my way through my interests in the forums. I was reminded here of Faun and Wardruna. Faun sounds much like Ghallarhorn, so I will post for your consideration

My musical tastes frankly are vast. I like everything from classic rock to Dead Can Dance, dark ambient, space music, Hard Bop jazz and Scandinavian folk-metal revival, like Wadruna, a not terrible example of which can be found here

I like Pink Floyd in a singular way and the pagan-esque acoustical works of some lesser-known 1970s Jethro Tull that was bearing the marks of cross-pollination with both the talent and influence from the likes of Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention.

Love me some Bach. Vivaldi's more my game, but Bach knew how to give Vivaldi props, so you get a pass.

I listen to all sorts really. Everything from Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, to Eminem and DMX. From Dead Kennedy's to Cannibal Corpse. Slayer is my favorite band of all time, but lately I've been listening to more Black Metal than anything. Darkthrone, Carpathian Forest, Gorgoroth, etc.

This thread has been a fun read! Lots of great choices and a very wide range of styles, artists, etc.

I love seeing all of the Reggae mentions. I started out my career in music as a Reggae DJ. I still work in the music biz. It's been a pretty crazy ride for the last 25+ years. I'm still a passionate fan - Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop, House, Jazz, Downtempo, Pop, etc

Still kinda shocked to see Ozric Tentacles mentioned!

Family lore holds that I was digging on Glenn Miller before I was born. I would be kicking and moving around, or so the story went, and Mom would put on some Army Air Corps Band stuff, and my activity would change noticeably.

So, yeah, sixty years or so later, and I still dig on the big band sound. And a lot of Bebop. and a lot of other jazz. And a lot of rock, and blues (well, the best rock is based on the blues chord progressions...).

And of course classical, from Mozart to, well, yeah...

Even P.D.Q. Bach has some recordings in my collection.
Eventually I'll figure out this signature thing and decide what I want to put here.

All of it. Grew up listening to country with my dad, an Italian cowboy singing along with Buck Owens and the likes of Patsy Cline.
As I evolved into a hippie rock, southern rock. These days I listen to a lot of country on sirius Outlaw Country, not really top of the charts stuff.
