Today, in the local Walgreen's there was the Nazional Ink-wire-er. It was informing "us" that Queen Elizabeth is stepping down and passing the crown directly to Prince William, having decided that Charles, having spent 70+ years waiting for his mother to die, won't be King after all.

I'm no expert on British Royalty but I believe that Parliament determines the succession, not the monarch. NOTHING that rag prints should be believed.

Thanks for the reminder, I caught a little of it yesterday and forgot to listen this morning.

You're right the stupid inquirer, any change in succession must be approved by Parliament. Nothing says Charles couldn't succeed to the throne and abdicate in favor of William. Supposedly when the Queen hits 95 years of age, at her request Parliament will pass a new Regency Act. She'll remain monarch in name only but Charles as Prince Regent will handle all state affairs.

The N.E. and Faux News constantly run phony headlines about British Royalty for some reason. My grandmother used to love that rag, and it probably made her feel better about herself to see family drama even in the "royal" family.
