I had no idea, but found that Dems have rarely controlled the NY state senate. They finally won it and passed voting rights bills the first day. Nice to see freedom ring!

Yeah, there was a weird twist that a DINO Senator from NYC caucused with Republicans (Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox guy and district). I'm not sure about the machinations, but either he was defeated or enough Republicans were to flip the Senate. It was truly strange and unusual, but I haven't lived in NY or been a resident there for over 45 years, so only sort of follow it.

But, as they are everywhere in the nation, Republicans are sore losers, only this time they couldn't enact atrocious lame duck legislation with both a Dem House and Governor.
