To all missionaries, regardless of which god you believe in, your god is calling you to go there. The people there hunger for the word of god. They will welcome you with open arms.

North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands, which includes South Sentinel Island, in the Bay of Bengal. It is home to the Sentinelese who, often violently, reject any contact with the outside world, and are among the last people worldwide to remain virtually untouched by modern civilization. As such, only limited information about the island is known.

I guess we can start there. Wouldn't want to overwhelm the poor tribesman.

You are aware of the young missionary who got a shower of arrow for his wages just the other day. The Indian government is worried about getting his body off the island before it spreads some disease like the flu. The dummy could wipe the whole remaining members of the tribe out.

The BBC reported yesterday that that was his third time trying to get on the island.
First time they shot arrows at him in his boat, second he actually sat with them for a while, after bringing a gift of fish, but they shot an arrow at him on his way out. Hit a Bible, of course, so that was clearly a sign, in his mind. Third time is what you've heard about.

Officials say the islanders have lived in isolation for nearly 60,000 years and therefore have no immunities to common illnesses such as the flu and measles. Advocacy group Survival International said that by contacting the community, Chau may have passed along pathogens that have the "potential to wipeout the entire tribe" of about 50 to 150 people.
He said he was inspired by the Victorian explorer and missionary David Livingston and Jesus.
Our dear friend John was martyred on the Andaman Islands, killed by bow and arrow. Still can’t believe you were taken. It’s a comfort to know you’re with the Lord, but we’ll miss you

The idea that somehow the islanders who have been isolated for millennia "need" some jingoist proselytizing elitist to "teach" them why HIS invisible imaginary friend is superior to THEIR invisible imaginary friend(s) is utterly typical of Western arrogance and, ultimately, racism.
I believe it was DeSoto, who, going up the Mississippi found numerous indigenous villages. 50 years later, most of them were gone, wiped out by the disease DeSoto and his contaminated crew brought with them that the local people had NO immunity to.
These people have made it repeatedly clear that they value their right to privacy and will fight to defend that very right, a right OUR Supreme Court determined was implicit in the Bill of Rights. If we have it, the islanders have it. And, in typical fanatical "Warriors for God" vanity, this dumb asshole had no respect for that right and ANY rights of others who deviate from HIS dogma and paid for it with his life.
I have to say, I have zero sympathy for him or for the people who taught him and sent him there. He was a trespasser, an invader, who was warned off twice.

He would have a better chance proselytizing at the Saudi Embassy in Turkey.

Very much so. Moron missionaries, doing their best to kill off what few native tribes are left. The only downside of his getting poked full of arrows is that it didn't push him back into the ocean and away from the island.

In a previous thread:
“Any white person who brings the element of civilization, has the right to take over this continent.” -Ayn Rand
Dumbass here took his place in a long line of westerners looking to solidify his place in history by “making a difference” among people he did not respect yet felt entitled to be among. The locals recognized that far better than he understood himself and so simply eliminated the threat. I certainly hope, as others have mentioned, that the body was left alone, taken to the ocean or buried to avoid transmission of disease to the villagers.
What a selfish prick.

Ironic that an evangelical type wins a Darwin award in such spectacular fashion.

We do have to remember that Charles Darwin was an ordained Minister of the Church of England.

It's not like he hadn't been warned before. Sad, really, that missionaries don't read the entirety of their bible. While Paul may have said to go unto all the world, Mathew had an admonition
Matthew 10:14 King James Version (KJV)
14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Had our missionary followed that advice he could've avoided receiving the new Arrow shirt. Thoughts and prayers.

Hehehehe! I'd noted in a FB post that he should get double points for his award since he was killed by a tribe that hasn't changed in thousands of years using archaic technology.

Maybe it's misguided of me but I want to find a way to sterilize a bunch of really nice compound bows and a bunch of razor head arrows and then air drop them to the Sentinelese. I know they'll put them to good use.
