Why I Detest Tom Perez

1
HuffPo had this interview with DNC Chair Tom Perez. If there's ANY reason Dems lose Tuesday, it should be on this guy's head.
He riffs away from a straight question to blather on and on like Republican. From the first "Is Trump a racist?" Tom blathers, and finally blows up at the interviewer.

He has the magic quality of being both irritating and boring SIMULTANEOUSLY! He's constantly missed the target on what Democrats want and was the pick, not of the party but of the "Leadership".

His supposed "peace" with Keith Ellison was a phony--he immediately began cutting Ellison and his people out of the DNC, just like the "Leaders" wanted him to. And he's STILL dreaming about capturing "Centrist anti-Trump Republicans" at the cost of alienating Progressives. He may be a nice guy in person, but I judge him by his job performance.

He is the typical Clinton corporate dem that can’t see it is time for a change when you have the likes of progressive Dem such as Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Gillums and Sri Preston Kulkarni amoung others making inroads into red states. The best hint that could happen to the Dems is to purge the Clinton Corpoatenistas of of the leadership of the party

Don't forget: Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and Chuck Schumer are cut from that same cloth.
The only 2 of the gang who SEEM (and I say "seem" guardedly) to actually get it, are Barack Obama and Joe Biden, particularly President Obama.

Since when is Debbie Wasserman reasonable?
We got a good taste of how she and other Dem Corporatists roll during the last Presidential Election, they'll help loose us another (critical) election.
Funny how they play dirty to get rid of Bernie yet want to "reason" with Republican voters.

If you start by assuming blatantly false assumptions are facts, it will lead you to irrational conclusions and positions.

They ASSUME there is this large, rational pool of centrist Republican voters who JUST have to be convinced Dems are better for them. This bolus of voters simply does not exist, but there IS a bolus of Progressive, Independent-Progressive-leaning, and even Progressive Democratic voters who have so consistently been disgusted with the Wasserman Schultz / Clinton/ Pelosi /Perez "leadership" that they've stayed home and why the Dems have lost the House in '94, '96, '98, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016. That's 10 of the last 12 mid-terms.

Yet the "leaders" clearly have learned NOTHING! It's the multiple grass roots movements, HORRIFIED that the Clintons and the DNC blew an easy slam-dunk against the WORST candidate the GOP could have fielded. The "leaders" didn't generate this energy--the base rank&file that made this Blue Wave possible. And if it fails, the blame will TOTALLY fall on those "Leaders" who've been
a) a day late and a dollar short on numerous special election campaigns
b) forcing out candidates who MAY have the best shot of winning if they didn't fit the DCCC's profile
c) wishy-washy and blathering rather than seeing the POWER of Gillum, Abrams, and O'Rourke taking and hold strong, well-defined positions that aren't "Republican-lite"
d) Wrong, wrong, and wrong for 10 of the last 12 House elections (and the 11th, 2008, was REALLY on Obama's coattails).

I do believe you misunderstood what I was saying. I believe I said that Debbie Wasserman Schultz thought she could win over republican voters by reasoning with them. I never said that Wasserman Schultz could be reasoned with. I don't like it when someone puts words in my mouth.

I think you are taking it more personally than it was intended. I took it to to mean that DWS shouldn't expect to "reason" with Republicans when she, in fact, is not a reasonable person herself. I don't see it as putting words in your mouth...IMHO.

You're correct that ever since 1992 the democratic party thought that becoming republican lite would win elections. Even after Newt Gingrich blew a big hole in that plan with his take no prisoners approach the democratic party still didn't learn. Winning congress in 2006 and Obama in 2008 was nothing but a speed bump for the republican onslaught to a one party state. And the democratic party aided and abetted that onslaught by clinging to its vision of republican lite.

For years republicans gave a wink and a nod to illegal immigration and the democratic party didn't say a word. Now, a sleaze ball like Humpty Trumpty instills fear and terror in the electorate over illegal immigration which is nothing but a red herring to distract and divide. And the democratic still doesn't say a word. Unreasonableness has become the watch word of our politics today. 300 years ago the spirit of the times was called the age of reason. We now live in the age of unreasonableness.
