It's not as if it wasn't tried. Ever seen Gangs of New York?
Yup. It all went to hell when we let in the Irish. :drunklep:

I agree. It sounds like a blatant disregard of the 14th Amendment, though Trump hasn't shown signs yet of over concern for rule of law. My guess is that he will go ahead and slap on an executive order and that within days or weeks, there will be a stay put on in federal court. He will still get the points he was after among the racists that make up his base of support.

Maybe 45 should just scrap Birthright Citizenship in favor of Service as a requirement.

Now that this Trumpian red-herring has crashed and burned, what's Trump's next one?
He wants a distracting debate from his KILLING health care (as Mitch has promised) and Dems are saying "See you in court!"

Republicans are panicking. But Democratic "Leadership" (Pelosi and Schumer) are DETERMINED to blow it! In 2016 Pelosi predicted Dems would win 25 seats and the majority in the House, and OBVIOUSLY take the Senate. Picked up one Senate seat and 4 House seats....now she's guaranteeing a win...OH, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smoke and mirrors. YT is right on this one- while they get everybody riled up over something that has zero legal legs, they are getting ready to pass the most awful budget they can come up with- massive cuts to SS, Medicare, Medicaid, and Mental Health Services and this is providing great cover for when the lame duck session is happening.
