Another chapter in the book of flying gun parts...
So I was having some feeding issues when I shot my Browning Challenger yesterday and I noticed that the magazines were pretty dirty. So I cleaned them and everything seems fine now but it reminded me that I had not cleaned the mags for my Mark III 22/45 in a while. I have five mags and after cleaning the first four I guess I was getting a little cavalier. I was a little less than careful when removing the base plate from the fifth magazine. As many before me have experienced, the little spring-loaded plunger fired out of the bottom of the magazine and described a perfect parabolic arc, flying across my basement, and landing... wait for it ... directly in the cat’s recently-visited litter box. Swish, nuthin but net.
At least it was easy to find.
I suppose cleaning cat poop off your magazine plunger is to be preferred over having to order a new one.
Re: Lucky? Or not...
2There has to be some version of Murphy's law that applies here. Whatever can go wrong, will go in the litter box.
Re: Lucky? Or not...
3That's a funny image you painted.
"It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of non-violence to cover impotence. There is hope for a violent man to become non-violent. There is no such hope for the impotent." -Gandhi

4Two things to ALWAYS have handy:
Disposable gloves.
Vick VapoRub.
You know what the gloves are for. You put a dab of Vicks on each nostril so the smell doesn't make you wretch.

5Love it! 'nuthin but net' (scratch, scratch, scratch). I'm glad it was easy to find and not quickly buried.

6Thanks all! I usually wear nitril gloves when I clean. The Vick’s is a good idea. Odor mitigation and lubrication - a miracle substance!

7Out of desperation, trying to get quick relief from colds, last winter we tried old fashioned Vicks again as a chest rub. Amazing! By morning I was nearly better!Bucolic wrote: Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:24 pm Thanks all! I usually wear nitril gloves when I clean. The Vick’s is a good idea. I hated it when Mom would use it on me 55-60 years ago, but DAMN if that stuff doesn't work, and work fast!
