Generation? 26 of the Trumpistan states are subsidized--only 4 are donor states--and 3 of THOSE trend purple--Wisconsin, Michigan and Florida. The fourth? Texas. I give them 5 years, max, before they default and go bankrupt.

13 of the 20+1 Clinton states are donor states. One is break-even--can't remember if it's DE or RI, but I think it's RI, and 7 are subsidized. All but 2 are tiny--New Mexico, Hawaii, Vermont, Delaware (or RI) and DC. The bigger ones, Virginia and Maryland are subsidized because so much of the Federal Government is them (think FDA, NIH, and the Pentagon). Cali, NY, NJ, CT, and Mass give AMAZING amounts--.39 cents of every dollar NJ sends to DC is spent in "taker" states. We'll be fully solvent in less than 5 years.

The point? When the Trumpistan states BEG to come back, we should (are you ready?) BUILD THE WALL!!!!

I don't think Texas is going to go bankrupt. The state government is generally pretty good about budgeting and the state has a multi-billion dollar "rainy day fund".

Texas is one of 17 states subsidizing 36+1. That's just over 2 parasites to one donor. In Trumpistan, it will be 26 to 4. That's more than 6 parasites to each donor. And Texas (and Florida) are barely donor states. In Trumpistan, they'll be overwhelmed.

No way Florida would stay in Trumpistan. Georgia probably wouldn't, either, very long. Those are two big economies. Texas would go back to independence before joining Trumpistan.

Trumpistan would quickly resemble 1970s Mexico or a former East Bloc country with nothing but poverty, oligarchs, and Trumpaganda.

It takes what the 2nd most oil rich, mass land area red state to not be a federal leech.

The fundemental notion that taxes are politically easy to cut and budgets politically suicidal to balance utterly escapes the returd voter at its most basic level.

Nah. Trumpians always think they are right. Gilead.. er... Trumpistan would never admit they were wrong. Kim Jong Un will give them lessons on how to deal with a poor economy.

I think K9's right about Texas. We could go it alone - and independence is pretty hard-wired into the DNA of the state.

If you mean Texas, I cannot imagine Texas would ever give up the chance to be an independent republic again. Why would they join Trumpistan with a bunch of states like that?

Oops. Posted mine at the same time you posted. I have a lot of family from Texas (and still in Texas). I would probably move there in this scenario. Texas would jump at the chance to secede and create an armed border with Oklahoma. :)

Oklahoma politics frightens me. Even more than Texas.

And Texas has AMAZING good food.

If they could leave Cruz in Trumpistan/Washington DC, then Texas would be a nicer place.

I suppose anything is possible, but regardless of political leaning I think most Texans like being Texans. They argue, but ultimately would try to stick together. That’s just an observation from the peer group of liberal and conservatives I know and have known and over thirty years and spanning over four decades. Besides they are deeply attached to the shape of Texas. :roflmao:

I can see that. Think of all the neon Texas bar lights they would have to change. That alone would make it not worth it.
On the other hand, without them damned Yankees to unite against the internal squabbling would commence in earnest.

Texas would be the first to go 3rd world if seceded. The notion that Texas could exist as a nation is ridiculous, plus it would make Yugoslavia breakup seem tame. If not red neck white, would be legal to drag you behind their pick up. Many Texans remind me of the Afrikaners I worked with years ago when it came to racism and Texas is BARELY covert in that regard.
