Interesting video. My dad flew as a CFC/Flight Engineer on B-29s after WWII. During WWII he flew in B-24s as Gunner/Armourer/Asst.Flight Engineer. He had some amazing stories about his time flying in in the war and after WWII. One of the crews he flew with in B-29s, the pilot/AC had finagled somehow to have the whole crew be from Texas. On a training mission they were flying off the west coast the pilot spotted one of the Navy Fleet Carriers. They radioed the carrier and asked permission to land. The carrier said not no but hell no. Pilot radioed back if Dolittle could take off from a carrier he could sure land on one. The pilot dropped down behind the carrier and had gear down like they were going to land. The carrier started to zigzag. Dad said they then raised the gear applied power and went right over the carrier deck with the left wing tip just missing the island superstructure by about 12 feet. Need less to say when they landed the was a committee of commanders waiting for them when they parked the plane.
