Car Drives Through Portland Protestors

1
A driver in downtown Portland encountered a group of protestors and tried to go through them.
Ran down a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Watch the video and tell us what you think.

On Nortwestfirearms.com, which is majority non-urban conservative the opinion is along the lines of “stupid snowflakes who don’t know streets are for cars...serves them right.” Or “tough call...if I was in my car with my family and came up on a mob like that I’d probably decide that I have more to lose than these fucktards and run them down”.

My response was:
This happened in Portland, so if the driver was “afraid of mob violence” then there had better be clear evidence that he or she was attacked before he or she ran down the protestor. His or her fear of what *might* happen isn’t enough legal justification for not yielding the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk when the walk signal is in the pedestrian’s favor. I think the driver will likely be charged, and when it goes to court there had better be evidence that the driver was actually attacked or directly and creditably threatened or that driver is legal toast.

Try saying “I decided I had more to lose than these f—-tards” and see how far that gets you with the judge & jury.
I think my response was extremely mild, but then I’m severely outnumbered on NWFA.
(Just me and a few others to hold back the darkness.)

If the drivers car was surrounded, should have stayed inside and called 911. The plate appears to be visible on the Lexus so PPB might be able to contact the owner and since there is video it might be possible to identify some of the protesters.

Stupid people feel just because they're anonymous on an online forum they can say any stupid thing that comes into their head. It really shows how stupid they are because they aren't smart enough to think through their statement to realize they'll lose their guns forever and be in jail for decades.

I'm sure the driver knew full well there was a protest going on. Hell, I knew it was going on and I wasn't there; it was well publicized. Silver Lexus could have easily bypassed the scene but had to make his/her own statement.

I didn't read the original post. I tend to stay away from The Tavern section on NWFA (I can talk about it here :) )

More and more it seems Portland is becoming the crucible for idiocy and mayhem.
And that’s just a normal day driving sans protests.
The problem is that Portland is a deep blue island in an otherwise mostly purple/red state so you get “outside agitators” coming in and stirring up trouble. Then we have our own local idiots who just make it worse.

But then, name a city anywhere that doesn’t have its share of idiocy and mayhem.

Houston. Very boring city. Nothing ever happens. If people were to protest here, it would have to be something really important, like ... well actually I can't think of anything big enough to make Houstonians protest.

This one appears to be specifically about the police:

God forbid people protest police brutality, eh? Just everyone shut up and keep the cars moving. Anything else would be mayhem.
Aim past the target.

Too many folks believe the cull will just pass them by because they can act White better than some others. How wrong they are. Soon they will discover Whiteness is not just a matter of race but also of class.

If the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros in the playoffs to the World Series. Also when most protest take part in the summer. Who in their right mind would want to protest outdoors in 100+ degree heat with humidity at 90 Percent. :D
