I've been worrying about Lurker, too. I agree about the buddy system- it would be good to share private contact info with some friends here with whom you've gotten close, or some such arrangement. I don't like the thought that some folks just disappear into the void without a trace... :(

Yep. I remember after some of the Texas storms it took weeks to months for many people to get a resemblance of normal. Some even longer. My thoughts are with our sisters and brothers in the east.

I hope Lurker's ok. We've been getting a lot of rain here in North Central New Jersey. Today it as coming down, as the English put it, "in stair-rods"! (you know those 2 1/2 to 3' brass rods that hold carpet to stairs.) Supposed to have a lot more tomorrow, too. Wife switched flights in order to to take the first flight in the morning out of Minneapolis to get home ahead of the storm.

Agreed! Pair 'coasters' with 'fly-overs'? (Hoping that hurricanes and tornado alley don't activate at the same time. Coasts, earthquake zones, wildfires, tornadoes, floods...yeah, this will be a bit more complex. :blink: )

Hope lurker is ok and his family. Flooding is so unique, growing up we lived in an area that periodically flooded, but our house was on higher ground and elevated which saved us. IIRC isn't lurker originally from TN? He could be in another state helping family or friends.
