She could serve as low as 5 and a bit. I don’t think that’s enough.
Far too low. She'll be in a special housing unit since she's former LEO.

Botham Jean's neighbor, a key witness in Amber Guyger trial, shot to death in Dallas
A preliminary investigation shows Brown was shot in the back and thigh, a government official said on condition of anonymity.
Witnesses told police they heard several gunshots and saw a silver four-door sedan speeding out of the parking lot.

No suspect description had been released.

Yes, I saw that. Whoever it was, it will be seen by most people as a reason to not testify against a cop, I bet. At least, that's how it would be seen in my area.

I wonder if this might not be overturned on an appeal now that a key witness is no longer able to testify?

Saw that, Brown already testified and was cross examined and there is video of it. Probably unrelated but we have to see what the police turn up.

A drug deal in which the buyers allegedly drive 4 hours from Louisiana to buy marijuana in Texas, get into a gunfight with Brown, flee the scene taking his gun and backpack but leave the cash and drugs behind, bring the wounded guy to a hospital and then disappear from sight sounds like bullshit to me.
