What Did You Do to Prep Today?

Yes, there is such an animal as a liberal and progressive prepper. I am one.
I've been prepping (more or less) since Reagan was in office. The Cold War is over, but
Republicans are back and more determined than ever to screw things up.
Share what you did today, however large or small, to prepare for what may come.

Today I ordered an extended 100 hour battery and armored case to go along with the new cell phone I ordered. I'll be able to stay in contact longer without a recharge for as long as the network stays up.

Made sure there was enough cash in the bank to pay property taxes. City can afford to run the water pumps and sewer lift stations now.

May need to add to the beer stock pile.
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

I've had a pretty stocked freezer and do canning- finally got around to picking up a dual fuel generator a week or two back so it'll keep the fridge and freezer running in a power outage. Also have cord of wood for the winter, stacked and split. Never a bad idea to have supplies on hand just in case.

Winterized my camper so my plumbing works if we have to bug out. Afterward, I took a twenty mile bike ride encompassing two local breweries so I'm good, fit and experienced if I have to bug out by bicycle when tipsy?

Same here. As i learned in school , there is only so much energy in the universe, so I am prepping by storing up energy today.

Quizzed the kids about what to do in case of a fire and where our rally points outside the house and outside the neighbourhood are.

I'm like the plumber with blocked pipes at home. I work in emergency management and preparedness- when I get home I don't want to think about 'work' stuff.

I devised a strategic plan in the event of "The Rapture" to grab a Volvo wagon from the car dealership which puts those little fishy things on the rear and then load it with the stash from my Mormon neighbor. Then I'll carry on much as I have in the past.

I'm kind of a quiet prepper. Don't talk about it much, especially to my neighbors. In a SHTF scenario, the less they know about my 'stuff', the better. It's as yet a modest stash of those 25 years on the shelf meals, water purification, propane lamps, heaters and stove. I have a list and it's still being added to. Thinking of my small extended family too, as I know they don't take a lot of possibilities seriously. Most don't, and they are the threat to those of us who do. What worries me most is the duration of a crisis. Will I have enough of my meds to stay healthy? Things like that.

The Trump presidency will soon be challenged, by terrorist, foreign nations, and just plain a-holes who want to show how 'smart' they are. Crashing our power grid by hacking, blocking communication etc.

I predict that something will happen on inauguration day.

P.S. Don't forget... lots and lots of toilet paper. :smart:
