I bet I'll have one of the quarters left over after three years when I'm making my pecan bow--"my new bow" thread below. I have four quarters. I start on the first this December when it'll be one year old. One bow per year will give me a chance to learn how to make them. By the fourth quarter, I'll make a good one, and the wood will be four years old. Maybe it will last a few years then.

I feel like I need to develop similar skills. If the anti-2As come for my guns (like they promise they will), I'll need to have other projectile weapons at my disposal. I would if Magpul will develop grips?

my dad has done this about 6 times over his 86 years. In fact, he just finished one up around last Christmas. He cant pull it back to full draw anymore, but its pretty nice for harvesting from his own land and doing with mostly simple hand tools. No, not museum quality, well, maybe if your talking neanderthal quality but it does work..

Oh forgot the last two were laminates of hickory and sycamore. I have no idea how he split the sycamore though.. That stuffs tough as hell.
