Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn

Since I’m new, I thought I’d go and post in all the porn threads. I’m just that way.

Here’s me and my first rifle, a Big 5 Mosin. Hex receiver. I went to 7.62x54r.net and found out which model, but I’ve forgotten.

Goes bang real loud and leaves a purple mark on my shoulder. What more could you want for $60?

Nice Mosin! You got a good one! What year?

When those were $60, we never thought they would dry up and sell for almost $300 now, did we? If we had known then.... those "crate of Mosins" sales wouldn't sound so crazy.

And yes, I don’t know why I didn’t buy 5! For that matter, why the hell didn’t I buy five of the 7x57 Mausers that they had at the same time for $129?!!!
It should have the date on the receiver. All of mine do.

Nice looking firearm.

I left one in cosmo (pictured above) in case they were worth more some day. I shoot the other one, but I bubba'd it. If I had only known. It was not as pristine as the 1940 Tula, so I don't mind so much.

Just saw that you can backorder 7.62x54R for $0.53/rd. Much cheaper than most other calibers.

Once again, your inexpensive old Mosin shoots inexpensive ammo. Made me chuckle when I saw that price today.

Yep. I just opened up a spam can of Bulgarian 7.62x54R that's been hiding in my garage for over 10 years. It will keep me in range outings for a few months.

I have one, but I assumed it would be for retirement. How's that spam can stuff shoot? Dirty and loud, I assume?

Run a patch soaked in ammonia cleaner though the bore at the range, then clean as normal when you get home. The ammonia helps to neutralize the salts in corrosive ammo. I carry some in a Soviet oil bottle I got when I got my first 91/30 back in the day.

Since it's corrosive, take a water bottle and wash out the barrel right after you're done shooting so as to get rid of the corrosive salts. Then run a couple of patches through it. Clean as normal when you get home.
Mosin fireballs. Worth it.

I'm working on getting some decent shots of my newest find, but what I see thus far has me tryint fo figure out exactly what I've stumbled into. It was sold as a 91/30, with the only date on it being 1933. There are both Russian and Finnish markings (has the SA stamp), with a hex receiver. It was weird enough I just had to grab it, I just am not sure what to make of the odd journey it has had. I'm assuming hex receiver and the 1933 date on that would indicate a refurbished Dragoon maybe? With the Finnish markings as well, and the re-arsenal job for the bolt that was matched to the receiver, I'm just trying to dig as much as I can.
