Looks like you have a Soviet era 1935 rifle. If I interpret the numbers correctly, it was taken into Finnish Army “41” mark and refurbished by the Finnish arsenal. It had a D chamber marking which is good. It will shoot typical modern ammo like PPU fine.

The Finns reassembled and matched parts, so it’s a Finn rifle.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
77My camera on my phone is horrid, the only date specific is 1933, but I figured it was a refurbish. I dind't catch the 1941 refurb date, lots of squinting when it comes to the marks, but thanks for the info, I'm liking the deal I got better and better.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
78It looked like a 5 and not a 3, but at any rate the “41” was a mark found on captured weapons. It’s not necessary a year. It probably went through a typical Finnish arsenal refurbish meaning they took all the best parts and created a better rifle than the original. The only serial numbers that should match are the bolt and receiver. It has a Finn barrel most likely. Show us full pics of the rifle.curiocarrier wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 5:20 pm My camera on my phone is horrid, the only date specific is 1933, but I figured it was a refurbish. 79Full rifle will show us the sights, stock and such.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
81Can we get a better look at the rear sight?
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
82You should probably take it off the stock to read more symbols. Does it have any markings on the barrel? Looks like the Soviet front sight. Some Finns retained it, look at the link I gave you. It leads to misc info.

I can try and dig out the tools to get the stock off, but here's the rear sight, took one up close and one with it elevated from the side.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
84Any numbers on the side of the rear sight?
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
85Looks like those are meter markings.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
86Nice!
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
87Digging mroe, the 41 mark, before I dug, I figured refurb year, but I guess it's a factory location. Doubt it's like my Luger which is the non-existant "factory 42" marked.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
88As far as I could tell, it’s not clear why the number 41. It just is found on captured arms.curiocarrier wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 6:27 pm Digging mroe, the 41 mark, before I dug, I figured refurb year, but I guess it's a factory location. Certainly a lot of fun looking through the parts and figuring out what the Finns did.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
89Given that mine is Finnish capture, and WAS Russian, I think I can count it, so it ticks another box on my WOrld War 2 collection. Italy, England, Germany and with this Russia are done, plus have an Arisaka Last Ditch, so I'm close-ish.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
90Was Soviet is a big was. Finns improved everyone of the captures. The bolt is most likely reassembled with various parts, some Soviet or Russian even US. If you want to complete, you’ll need a Soviet one that has not been molested by Finns. 91Darn, I'd have to buy another one...how heartbreaking, I mean, I hate buying old milsurps, giving all the stuff to research.sikacz wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 8:53 pmWas Soviet is a big was. 92LoL! No worries the Soviet ones are cheaper!curiocarrier wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 9:06 pmDarn, I'd have to buy another one...how heartbreaking, I mean, I hate buying old milsurps, giving all the stuff to research.sikacz wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 8:53 pmWas Soviet is a big was. Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
93So more research and I'm finding the Finnish captures, the date I'm seeing isn't the production date, it's the re-arsenal date, so t he Finns got t his one in '33. Guess I do need to take it apart to figure out the receiver date.
Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
94The actual date of the receiver and its arsenal can be found stamped under the rear screw hole.

Re: M91 Mosin Nagant porn
95Well if the Finns got that in 33 then it’s not a capture. The Winter War didn’t start till late 1939 and that would have been their first opportunity to capture weapons. It’s Finn matched so it’s a Finn for sure. Yes take it off the stock and see what the tang says as CDFingers noted.curiocarrier wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 10:41 pm So more research and I'm finding the Finnish captures, the date I'm seeing isn't the production date, it's the re-arsenal date, so t he Finns got t his one in '33.
