“I hate guns,” he said.
“It was a large caliber gun. A .45,” Payton said. “It was designed back during World War I. And this thing just stops people. It will kill someone within four or five seconds after they are struck. You bleed out. After the first shot (that struck Smith’s torso), he took three more in his back.”
“We could go online and get 10 of them, and have them shipped to our house tomorrow,” he said. “I don’t believe that was the intention when they allowed for the right for citizens to bear arms.”
Payton failed to recognize there was a suspect--a person rather than an inanimate object--who allegedly killed Smith.

In 200 hundred years (coaches timeframe) they'll probably wonder about why we had people beating each other for sport in violent games that shortened people's lives and gave them brain injuries.

But we'll still be fighting wars with each other. If nothing else, we have a unique ability to compartmentalize.

I heard on the news, they found guns in both cars. The coach doesn't know his own players.

You don't understand. Clearly that evil gun, provided by the sinister NRA/ALEC cabal, whispered its malign suggestions into Will Smith's ear until it was finally able to force him to pick it up and put it in his car.
