I think if someone comes into a gun shop looking extremely angry or depressed, not selling them a firearm is perfectly reasonable. The local counseling center should leave some business cards with their hotline number for just such a situation. Firearms are generally not the solution when you are having a personal crisis.

Good call by the FFL, but the article lost me at "possibly prevents mass shooting" since many more people exhibit those symptoms than commit mass shootings. The "mass shootings" claim is nothing more than sensationalism.

That kinda gets me too.....it's like trying to prove a negative.

...was in the process of purchasing almost 50 rounds of 20-gauge shot gun shell ammunition.
Purchasing
almost 50 rounds? Don't 20ga shotshells still come in boxes of 25? Was he buying two boxes, but left a couple of rounds behind?

I like the charges he was brought in on
possession of a firearm while allegedly being drug dependent or in danger of becoming so.
Does that mean if you have an opioid prescription you can't purchase a firearm.
And the best part of all
as well as for reportedly purchasing his firearm by making false statements on his background check form.
He wasn't an eligible purchaser and background checks only work if everyone is honest. Very telling incident.
