This is Dan J. Popp, the guy in Milwaukee who murdered three people a couple weeks ago.
Ya think the Daily Kos has another agenda?

I think perhaps this is not an accurate representation of the weapon used, but you can be damned sure some folks will remember a gun "just like that" antique as being used in a triple homicide.

What horrible omen does sticking your head through a flag indicate?

Thats definitely not a 45-70, looks like one of the really big ones like 45-120. As to daily kos I imagine they have an agenda since its considered a banning offense to say anything bad about Hillary.

Nothing. But if their agenda is to bolster claims that there are no legitimate reasons to own even antique, curio, or relic firearms, publishing a photograph of an antique with a story about a triple murder would certainly advance it.
The Kos knows what an AR or AK looks like - I don't believe for a second that they chose that particular old geezer at random.

I am with you but would add they included a pic of the .52cal Sharps specifically with the US flag to play to the Kos base as well. Let's not kid ourselves: the US flag is barely more popular than the Confederate Battle Flag among those of us on the left.

After all, they could have just used a pic of the rifle without a flag.
