There's more mindless barking on that page than anything else. Proving the absence of something seems to be the focus. If they were connected to that other group does that mean something important?

Although a connection would seem unimportant to me, SCC is adamant in their denial:

I don't think adamant is even a strong enough word. They've thrown down a gauntlet because they know no one is going to pick it up. Unfortunately that won't penetrate the echo chamber the accusations are coming from.

I know it is irrelevant to most conversations, but SCC being connected to Tea Party is not a crime. Same as being a socialist is actually legal and honorable, some places.

The problem is that some people--particularly on college campuses--immediately dismiss any group thought to have connections to the Tea Party, the Koch brothers, or anyone else of that ilk. That knee-jerk reaction to any mention of the Tea Party prevents any real discussion of the issue. Plus, arguing that SCC was actually started by the gun lobby allows opponents to claim that there is no real grassroots support for campus carry.

Tell 'em there's The Liberal Gun Club. That ought to shake 'em up. And some of us support the right students with CHL to carry on campus.
