Same people, been in tech and now security, surrounded by tech, surrounded by massholes, very few from "southie" and very few fudds. As a matter of fact, a large percentage of the tech workers I know own guns, usually tinker toys aka AR platforms. I have been here since 1997, so not quite 20 years.
Maybe its your sunny disposition.

I find techies out here to be much more gun friendly than other Californians. Most of the tech folks have a strong libertarian bent.

.
Its that and the tinker toys.
Hardly a mecca of gun lovin' but its not as dire as Eeyore there makes it seem. The politicos yes, and I have some rabid anti gun friends for sure, but the subject doesn't devolve into accusations of murdering babies, and didn't when I was in the news.
And it won't when next I appear in the news. Since that's the point of the club, and me being in the news...

Ok. So yeah... clearly there is some possibility that this "outing" could go south for me and my family. I think that's my wife's fear. But she's a conservative New Englander and I've always been a bit of a "heart on the sleeve" kind of guy. So be it. Hopefully people can respect the idea that someone can be a completely normal and otherwise fairly liberal person and still believe that the right to bear arms is a tradition to be embraced rather than overcome. Regardless, It's something I'm willing to find out. If this is my chance to demystify gun ownership, I'd be a coward not to take it. Too many gun owners in Massachusetts keep quiet in the face of a loud, but ignorant mob.
Worse comes to worst, I'll move us all to New Zealand when Trump wins the election...

Mine was worried as well, but it was a big non-event. And my wife was recently elected to a town office in a very liberal town. Kids still come to the house to play, nobody is giving me stink eye.
The less we make it look like a big deal, the less it will be a big deal. Your neighbors will still like you (unless they didn't like you before)
