This is the terrifying collection of nearly 500 guns and 200,000 rounds of ammunition which was seized from a parish council chairman who collected firearms 'like stamps'.

Police revealed the full extent of their discovery at the home of crane operator James Arnold in Wyverstone, Suffolk. It is the biggest arsenal of illegal weapons ever found in the UK.

Three months after the discovery and the 49-year-old's arrest in April 2014, Arnold died of pancreatic cancer, meaning he could never face prosecution.
Yeah. "Terrifying."

Rounds did not appear exactly ready to go.

Interesting captions on the photos:

"Pictured is a Beretta 9mm. It is the official sidearm of the U.S. military and is the most tested and trusted personal defence pistol in history"

Gratuitous plug for Beretta, but also, isn't it also the official sidearm of the U.K. military? You know, NATO and all?

Or do they still use Webleys?

Used to be Hi Powers, but it looks like they made an emergency buy of SIG 226s when they needed pistols and the Hi Power supply dried up. There's a a picture of one of the Royal kids (Andrew?) In Afghanistan with Hi Power stuck in his kit, the comment being that he would have gotten what they considered the most reliable. Since then they settled on gen4 Glocks which is surprising, although in Europe the Finns and Swedes along with the Austrians and Romanians carry them.
When only cops have guns, it's called a police state.
I carry due to toxic masculinity.......just other people's.
