Bullets flew on Interstate 80 Sunday night in Pinole as a rolling gunfight between the occupants of two vehicles left one person wounded - the sixth such shooting on the East Bay section of the freeway in recent months, officials said.

The shootout went down around 9:30 p.m. when people in two vehicles traveling westbound on the interstate began firing back and forth, said California Highway Patrol Officer Daniel Hill.

A bullet struck a person in one of the vehicles as the cars sped away from the scene, the CHP said.
