loss of life is always regrettable, but making martyrs out of idiots maybe more so.

I'm sorry someone was killed. I'm glad the key figures are in custody. I hope this farce is at an end.

Bundy and several fellow occupiers were pulled over Tuesday on Highway 395, a law enforcement official said. According to The Oregonian, they were headed to the city of John Day, where they planned to participate in a community meeting set up by local residents.
Everyone obeyed orders to surrender except two people: LaVoy Finicum and Bundy's brother, Ryan Bundy, the official told CNN.
Shots were fired, but it's unclear who fired first, the source said. Ryan Bundy was wounded, and Finicum died.
The occupiers also claimed Finicum had his hands in the air when he was shot.
Did the occupier morons really think they were privileged with some kind of immunity that would allow them to emerge from the occupied buildings, freely travel to a town meeting, and then return without being seized by law enforcement?

Like I posted on another thread I hope that the Feds and the Oregon State Police had cameras going when they moved in to make the arrests. They had to figure something would happen and in this current political enviroment cops need to have lots of documentation. Personally I like cameras. They and audio recorders have protected me more than a couple times. As has the GPS in my patrol car.

Still 7 to 12 holed up at the refuge... Now that shots have been fired, I would expect LE patience to be gone.

The only actual shooting was by a couple of white kids out for excitement and protection of the American way of life. Cops were under control all the way.

The FBI has released video of the shooting of Lavoy Finicum. Contrary to what is being said by the conspiracy circut, Finicum races off at high speed from the stop and, when coming upon the road block and spike strip, tries to run around it nearly hitting an OSP trooper in the process. (5:50) Coming to rest in a snow bank, Finnicum exits the vehicle with hands raised. At 6:03 he is clearly seen dropping his arms, turning, and reaching in his waistband for his weapon. At this point (6:06) he is shot by another OSP trooper. No "hands up, don't shoot" scenario as the "eyewitnesses" claim; no Bonnie and Clyde ambush as has been claimed by sympathizers. I appreciate the transparency the FBI has exhibited in this.

Local media reports that the dead guy had a 9mm semi auto under his coat. Sorry he's dead, but it looks like a suicide by cop.

Here is a page at another site that pulls together all kinds of links including Twitter about the arrests in the Wildlife Refuge standoff as well as from the Bundy militia problem last year in Nevada.
