What does carrying a rifle have anything to do with the Texas open carry. By the way only about 3 percent if Texans have the required license to open carry a handgun. A good portion will not open carry due to loss of tactical advantage.

On a side note that pics is just absurd.

No, just regular stupid. Probably doesn't know one end of a gun from another. No one with a minimum amount of knowledge would do that. Odds are he bought that AK-variant the morning of. My guess is there's an out of view price tag still dangling off the trigger guard. :wall:

Once Texas has OC, even though it requires a CHL, the activities of groups who OC rifles in protest of not being able to OC handguns should wane.

Possibly - but then it would have been better not to put it on in the first place, keep it in a pocket. That way non-gun savvy folks would be more likely to recognize it.

The vast majority of people that are going to panic at the sight of a rifle aren't going to know enough to check if the magazine is in place or not.

It was in Texas, not Massachusetts. We just point, laugh, and carry on.

Then I don't think those people will be able to tell that the mag is inserted backwards either.

Hell no. The OC dimwits will be back the next session of the Legilizards to try and get the CHL requirement removed. This since many of them can't qualify for the CHL or buying a modern handgun due to past youthful and not so youthful indiscretions.
